Dress Code

We have met with the students and reminded them of the expectations forstudent dress code. Our expectation is that students come “dressed ready tolearn and not ready to go hang out at the mall.” We appreciate the support ofparents and guardians as we strive to improve our learning environment. These are some basic guidelines we have shared with students:•No hats in the building•Shoulders need to be covered. No bra straps, spaghetti straps, showing, as wellas razorback shirts in the back. You are allowed to wear a shrug, cardigan, etcover them.•No cleavage•No tummies or back showing when your hand is raised straight up.•No advertisements of illegal things including drugs, alcohol, or weapons. Nogang-related symbols or accessories, vulgarity or profanity.•Shorts and skirts must be fingertip length when hands are straight down by theirside. Leggings can be worn under short shorts and skirts as long as they arefingertip length.•No underwear showing - no sagging pants.•footwear must be worn at all times - no slippers, house shoes. If you have any additional questions, please contact our Assistant Principal,Mrs. Robinson @ 720-494-3820

Safety - Safety - Safety

Since it has been a couple of months since last school year, we want toencourage you to take a moment and remind your student about the importanceof safety as they travel to and from school. Review the normal things, such asstaying away from strangers, obeying traffic rules, and respecting publicproperty. One particular area that should be reinforced is for the students who ride bikesto school. It seems like we have a lot more students on bikes already - which isgreat! We do want to make sure that all students are safe, including those whowalking near the bike riders. Please remind your students about properprocedure for riding bikes near pedestrians and in crosswalk/intersections. Also,we see many students riding to school with their helmets attached to theirbackpacks. While we are certainly happy that their backpacks are safe, we’drather see their heads protected.

Leadership St. Vrain

Leadership St. Vrain (LSV) is especially valuable for parents who want a solidfoundation in the operations and management of our district. Over the coursethe year, they’ll learn about instructional programming, student services, finance, school safety, governance, legislation, and public participation among othertopics. If you are interested in participating, please complete the online application
