Got an iPad? Get Insurance!

Accidents happen! The SVVSD Optional iPad Insurance Program for secondary students covers many of the costs associated with a damaged or lost iPad.  This year, the cost has been lowered to $25 AND includes new levels of coverage.  Plus, students who opt into insurance this year will be able to exchange a non-functioning cable for a new one at no cost! Parent Newsletter - August 1, 2018

Dear Trail Ridge Families,

The month of July has come to an end and that means that the new school year is approaching. We are looking forward to a great year and are excited to reconnect with returning students and to meet all of our new students as well! Our goal at TRMS remains the same: Simply, we strive for the positive growth and success of each and every individual. We look forward to working together with the students, their families, and our community to reach this goal.

Schools Recognized with USDA's HealthierUS School Challenge Awards

In May of 2016, Nutrition Services and School Wellness applied for USDA’s HealthierUS School Challenge awards for all of our middle schools and high schools that participate in the National School Breakfast and National School Lunch program.

The HealthierUS School Challenge: Smarter Lunchrooms is a voluntary certification initiative that recognizes schools creating healthier school environments through promotion of nutrition and physical activity.

Education, and the greatness of our nation

One of the most important institutions in our society is public education. Of the approximately 55 million K-12 aged children in the United States, it is estimated that 90 percent are enrolled in public schools. Second only to parenting, the longstanding institution of public education will have the greatest influence on America’s future.
In Colorado, we’ve experienced an ongoing discussion around the adequacy of resources for our public schools with mixed results.

Summer Lunch Program for Students

Students and families throughout our communities will be able to access free lunches this summer. Meals will be provided to any child under the age of 18. Adults with a child will be able to eat at "no charge" until funding dollars run out.

Meals will be provided at Countryside Village, Roth Rock Dell Park, Kanemoto Park, Carr Park and the Longmont Youth Center. Please review the flyer for days, times and activities.

Congratulations Class of 2018

Public Education – Empowering the Future
Public education is one of the most powerful systems for driving positive change in our society.
Across the United States, approximately 90 percent of our children attend a public school – and in the St. Vrain Valley, that percentage is even higher.
