As we approach the halfway mark of another successful school year, I want to thank you for your continued support as we strive for excellence in serving our students, parents and community. Communication throughout our community is essential to ensuring the ongoing success of our students and staff.
The Holiday Season is upon us and that means we are winding down the end of the second quarter here at TRMS. Students and teachers have been working hard to finish the quarter strong before final grades are posted. Remind your kids to take advantage of all opportunities we offer to provide extra academic support, including lunchtime study halls, after school homework club, and talking with their teachers.
This time of the year is always regarded as the perfect opportunity for us to focus on gratitude. This morning we had our annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony, giving our school community the chance to recognize and thank numerous Veterans for their service to our country. It is always a great event and today was no exception.

The first quarter has ended and we are very proud of the efforts of our students. We have almost 500 students make the Honor Roll this first quarter, with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0! That is awesome! We will continue to encourage all of our students to do their best and see if we can increase this number in the second quarter.
In this month's issue of the Family Connections Newsletter, we explore Inquiry-Based Learning, Thinking Differently About Digital Devices, and visit with one of our schools as they learn about Slam Poetry with local expert Joaquin Zihuatanejo in partnership with High Plains Library System.
