Welcome Back To Trail Ridge!

Dear Trail Ridge Families,

Welcome back! As we get set for the new school year, we hope you’ve all had a fantastic summer!

We’re excited to welcome all 6th grade students, along with new 7th and 8th grade students, to school on Tuesday, August 13th for the first day. The day will start promptly at 7:45am with our traditional clap-in event. Students are encouraged to begin arriving around 7:30am and report to the outside patio on the east side of the building to check in.

Returning 7th and 8th grade students will begin on Wednesday, August 14th. School begins every day at 7:45am. We will open the doors for early arrivers at 7:30am. To reduce congestion upon arrival, we ask that students utilize the doors on the south side (main entrance), or enter through the patio doors on the east side.

St. Vrain Valley Schools’ Department of Nutrition Services provides quality, nutritious, and well-balanced meals for all students across the district. Once again this year, all SVVSD students will have access to 1 free breakfast and 1 free lunch everyday.  You can find answers to FAQ on the district website, as well view the school menus here. Specifically, breakfast will begin on Wednesday, August 14th. For those students who will be eating breakfast, we encourage them to arrive as close to 7:30am as possible. Lunch will be offered the first day of school.

We will be hosting our Back-To-School event on Monday, August 12 from 5:00-6:00pm. This will be an informal event and a great opportunity for you to meet your teachers prior to the start of school. Stop by and visit us anytime during this window!

Students are encouraged to get involved in an after-school activity. It doesn’t matter if it is athletics, a performing art, student council, or even the popular Robotics Club. Just do something – it will really help them enjoy their middle school experience a ton!

It is great that we get to utilize the iPad as an awesome tool in our educational process. It is the student’s responsibility to take care of the iPad. The device the student will be using is for academic purposes only. They need to make sure it is charged and ready to use each day and refrain from putting any games or social media apps on the iPad. The iPad Insurance window runs from August 1st through September 15th. The fee for insurance is $25 and parents who would like to join the insurance pool this year need to make at least a partial payment sometime within the window. Please note that any student with an unpaid balance for iPad insurance from the previous year will not be eligible to join the pool this year until they pay off the previous year’s balance.

At TRMS, we have three basic rules: “Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Do Your Best.” If students follow these three rules, we are confident they will be successful!

Parents and guardians who would like information to assist you with particular parenting conversations or additional support of your child, please contact one of our wonderful school counselors, Miss Nazari ([email protected]) or Mrs. Klibbe ([email protected]).

Additionally, if we can help with anything, feel free to email any of the administrators. You can reach me at [email protected]. You can also reach out to our Asst. Principal, Mr. Matt Coniglio ([email protected]), or our Dean of Students, Mrs. Jaclyn Scott ([email protected]).

Sincerely,

Mr. Cloke

Trail Ridge Families,

As the new school year begins, we are looking to continue to grow our family and community partnership. Our Trail Ridge PTO is always looking for help and involvement. This can be attending PTO meetings, helping with parent/teacher conference meals, or any other way that families can help. If you are interested in helping with the PTO or becoming more involved in the school, contact Matt Coniglio (Assistant Principal) or Tammy Holliness (PTO President).

Drama Program 2024-2025

This year, Trail Ridge will be offering a Technical Theatre Advisory class to help push students into VPA programs and to encourage more ways to get involved in school events. We are also doing two shows next year: one Unified Theater show and our usual spring performance.

With all that in mind, if anyone acquires any of the following items that they would consider donating to support the Drama program over the summer, I would be most appreciative:

  • Wood
  • Tools (screwdrivers, hammers, boxcutters, staple guns, etc..)
  • Electric Tools
  • Foamboard or Styrofoam sheets
  • Screws or Nails
  • Hinges, Knobs, Casters, Shelving supports, or Metal Plates
  • Paint (any kind of paint works but preferably house paint or acrylics)
  • Paint Supplies (brushes, trays, rollers, etc…)
  • Drop Cloths for painting
  • Tape (duck tape, masking tape, electrical tape, or regular scotch tape)
  • Superglue or other strong adhesives
  • Gloves (garden or woodworking type gloves)
  • Aprons
  • Safety Glasses
  • Large pieces of cardboard/boxes
  • Hangers
  • Any fabric/tablecloths/curtains that you are not using
  • White/off white sheets (for painting backdrops)
  • Any craft supplies (hot glue guns, hot glue, wood sticks/dowels, etc)
  • Silk/Fake flowers or greenery
  • Any clothing accessories (hats, belts, purses, glasses, etc…)

If you look at something and say, “I think Drama could use this…” don’t hesitate to contact me and ask. I’ll be around most of the summer.
