From the Principal. . .
Dear Students and Parents,
We will be conducting the CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) assessments beginning on April 7 through April 17, 2026. All grades will take Math and Language Arts. Additionally, 8th graders will take the Science assessment and 7th graders will take the Social Studies assessment (one day only).
This is a great opportunity for Trail Ridge students to show what they know. It is important that each student do their best on these assessments to help provide an important measure for our school to make adjustments toward improved learning, and to continue to grow as a great middle school.
A few important reminders for our students and families:
- Please arrive at school on time. School begins at 7:45am.
- iPads are needed each day and need to be charged each night. Students test on their iPad and we have limited backup devices for students.
- Please schedule any appointments or extracurricular activities outside of your child’s testing times. Testing will take place from 8:00-10:00am each day.
- Make sure you get a good night’s sleep on the days before testing.
- Be sure you have a good, nourishing breakfast and have plans for a healthy lunch. Test taking is hard work and requires lots of energy.
- Only iPads are allowed in the rooms. No other electronics (ie, phones, Apple watches, etc) are allowed in the testing rooms.
- Do your best, but do not stress over the tests. Confident students do better on tests. These tests are only one snapshot and not the whole story. They are great practice for future tests like the PSAT and SAT in high school.
- Carefully follow directions, take time to select the most correct answer, and check over work before submitting it.
- If your family chooses not to take the assessments, please email Mr. Cloke as soon as possible or by April 3 at the latest. There are quite a bit of behind the scenes logistics and the sooner we know the better.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
Sincerely,
Eddie Cloke, Principal
ParentSquare: Our New District Communication Tool
St. Vrain Valley Schools will begin using ParentSquare, a new district communication tool that allows families to receive notifications based on their preferences. St. Vrain’s communications team will pilot ParentSquare for the remainder of the school year with the plan to expand access to schools at the start of the 2026-27 school year. We’re excited about the opportunities ParentSquare offers to streamline communication and will be working towards consolidating several of the tools families currently use into one convenient platform.
Parents and guardians will receive an email invitation to activate their ParentSquare account. This will allow families to download the mobile app, set language preferences, and choose how and when they receive notifications.
Visit the district website to learn more about ParentSquare.
988 Colorado Mental Health Line
A new state law requires schools to share information about the 988 Colorado Mental Health Line. The service provides free, confidential support 24/7 from trained specialists through calls, texts, or live chats. Families can learn more by visiting 988Colorado.com.

TRMS PTO News. . .
Thank you for your support of our Regal Fundraiser! If you have any trouble redeeming your ticket bundle, feel free to reach out. We appreciate your support, and hope you enjoy(ed) the movies!
The PTO is an important way to show how much we value our energetic and dedicated Trail Ridge teachers and staff. Consider joining us! We need two more members to keep the PTO alive for next year. Meetings occur about 4-5 times a year and can accommodate your schedule. The main goals are providing teacher meals during conferences and Teacher Appreciation Week, and raising money for extra items not in the school’s budget. Please consider supporting our Grizzly community in this way, and reply to this email if you are interested.
As we gear up to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, we want to ensure our teachers feel truly valued for their dedication and hard work. While preparing individual meals may not be feasible, we’re excited to announce that we’ve set up a donation link specifically for monetary contributions towards Teacher Appreciation Week! Your donations will go towards providing special treats and meals to show our teachers how much we appreciate them.
Trail Ridge Middle School Teacher Appreciation Week
Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference in making Teacher Appreciation Week memorable for our teachers.
Thank you for your support,
TRMS PTO
