There is No Such Thing as Bad Weather, Just Bad Clothes

Do you ever think about the implications that weather has on city events or your own personal safety? Weather affects our daily activity and lifestyles therefore it is of high importance. Weather objectives that 6th grade students need to meet are:

1. Differentiate between basic and severe weather conditions, and develop an appropriate action plan for personal safety and the safety of others (3.1.a)8

2. Use models to develop and communicate a weather prediction (3.1.c)8

PARCC Testing Schedule

As you know, this year all students in Colorado will be taking PARCC testing in place of TCAP.  Because PARCC is a computerized test, we can no longer test all students in one week as we did with the TCAP Test.  The testing schedule for begins on March 9th and runs through May 14th.  I know this sounds like quite a lot, but keep in mind that with the exception of 7th grade, (there is an addition of a social studies test), the number of testing sessions is exactly the same as TCAP.  It is our commitment that testing will not take over the school for 4th quarter.
