Trail Ridge Parent Newsletter – August 19, 2022

Trail Ridge Families,

The students and staff have had a very busy first few days of school! It has been great to have the students return to TRMS and we are looking forward to a great year together. This past Tuesday night was a nice opportunity to meet many of you at our Back To School Night. All of our new students began their year on Wednesday with orientation. And Thursday was an outstanding first day for all students. We have a lot of energy throughout the building!

As we head into next week, Picture Day is scheduled for next Friday, Aug 26th. Students will be having their picture taken during their electives class. Remind them to bring their best smile on this day! ☺

An important reminder for all families to be diligent in completing the free lunch application. Different from last school year, students are now charged for lunch. If your student is not part of the free lunch program, please make sure to have money in their account so there are no issues for them during lunch. Also, we are in the middle of the iPad insurance window. Don’t forget to make a payment to sign your student up for this opportunity. Many families can speak from experience that this has been valuable to them in the past. If you need assistance with either of these items, please reach out to Melissa Manzanares in the front office and she can help.

We are still in need of two volunteers to represent TRMS for the District’s Leadership St. Vrain program for this year. The important info you need is listed below this letter. However, you can reach out directly to me if you have additional questions!

This next week, I am looking forward to meeting with all students during their Language Arts classes as they will be writing their academic and engagement goals for this year. They will be sharing their goals with you – please spend a few minutes reviewing and discussing with them. We appreciate your support as we work together for their success!

Enjoy your weekend!

Mr. Cloke, Principal

Applications are now open for Leadership St. Vrain for the 2022-23 school year. We are looking for 2 members of our community to represent TRMS for this program.

Leadership St. Vrain is a program designed to give parents and community members the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of district operations and exchange ideas. The program is especially appropriate for parents who want to obtain a foundation in district operations and governance and become more effective participants in school district affairs.

Those interested need to complete the application here: https://www.svvsd.org/about/district-committees/leadership-st-vrain.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me at [email protected] or by calling the school office at 720-494-3820.
