School Procedures

School begins promptly at 7:45 a.m. Students should not arrive too early as there is no supervision prior to 7:30 a.m. When the weather is nice, the grade level exterior doors will open at 7:30 a.m. each morning with the first bell.  All students are expected to be in their seats and ready to begin class at 7:45 a.m. or they will be marked tardy. Please help us ensure each and every student starts the day off right by being on time! Finally, all students need to leave campus by 3:00 p.m.

Student Drop Off/Pick up: When dropping off or picking up students, please follow the “rules of the road” in our parking lot. Our lot is designed for cars to use the pickup/drop off lanes to pull all the way forward toward the west side of the lot. By doing this, it allows for more students to be dropped off at once and doesn’t crowd the front of the school. We appreciate your support!

Safety & Security at TRMS: Safety and Security are extremely important in our schools! All visitors will be required to show an ID when they arrive. You will be asked to show your ID when you ring the buzzer and possibly again in the office if you are signing a student out. Thank you for helping to keep our students safe.

Lunch Deliveries: If you are bringing lunch food for your student, it needs to be done during their lunch hour.  They will not be allowed to miss class for a late lunch. If it is late, the food will be held in the office until the end  of the day. Students may not order take-out online or by phone during the school day. Also, we do not accept Door Dash deliveries made by parents or students.  Any lunch deliveries must be made by someone who is listed on Infinite Campus.

Cell Phones/Technology Use: Cell phones are not permitted during the school day. This includes lunch, recess, and hallway time.  Cell phones should be turned off and kept in the student’s backpack if brought to school. Trail Ridge Middle School is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged cell phones. If students bring their phone to school, it is at their own risk. Families are encouraged to call the office to communicate with their student or contact their student on the SVVSD district email. Earbuds should only be used when given specific teacher direction for them in class. Earbuds are not permitted in hallways or in the commons area.

For a full list of student expectations and school procedures, you may review the student handbook on the Trail Ridge website under About–>>Student Handbook or by using the following link: 2023-2024 TRMS Student Handbook.

Student Code of Conduct

Thank you for your partnership and supporting the academic growth, safety, and well-being of our students. Each year the District publishes a manual for students and families entitled, “Behavioral code of conduct and Board of Education Policies, Rights and Responsibilities of Students and Parents”. It is important that families review this information every year and acknowledge their receipt and understanding of this document.

Please click here to access an electronic version of the revised Code of Conduct for the 2023-2024 school yearAfter you have reviewed this information, all families must sign an electronic acknowledgement that they have received, read, and understand the information contained, including the Annual Notification to Parents/Guardians; Behavioral Code of Conduct; Rights and Responsibilities of Students and Parents; and Board of Education Policies book. To sign your electronic acknowledgement, please follow the steps described here.  Thank you for your continued partnership and support. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Trail Ridge.

Annual School Picture Day

Our Annual School Picture Day will be on Friday, August 25th.   Students will have their picture taken during their electives classes. We are using green screen technology for pictures this year, so students should not wear green. After Picture Day, parents will be notified by email when their child’s pictures are available for viewing and ordering. Ordering will be online at www.jostenspix.com or by phone at 1-877-515-1447, option 1. Finally, picture retakes are scheduled for Friday, October 6th.
